Native Sugarbag Bee Workshop

Learn all about native bees in Australia, with a special focus on Sydney's native sugarbag bees at this workshop led by expert Tim Heard.

You'll get a chance to see the bees up close and personal and to taste some 'sugarbag' honey from a native beehive.

Bayside Film Club: What We Did on Our Holiday

Join us for a free screening of What We Did on Our Holiday (2014) at Rockdale Library.

Workshop: Build a Native Wildlife Nest Box

Bayside Council has teamed up with the Fix It Sisters to host a workshop where residents can build a nest box to put in their backyard.

Members of the Fix It Sister’s Shed will share their woodworking expertise as they guide attendees through the construction of a nest box for native wildlife.

A backyard nesting box can provide a safe nesting for many species of birds and animals to raise their young.

When: Saturday, October 12 · 11am - 2pm AEDT

Naggangbi Business Connect: First Nations Business Forum

Hear stories, business tips and insights from successful First Nations business owners at Bayside's First Nations Business Forum.

When: Tuesday 22 October, 10am – 1pm
Where: Botany Town Hall

Attendees will get a chance to meet representatives from various organisations including YARPA, Supply Nation, Many Rivers, First Innovators, NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce, Indigenous Business Australia, Service NSW.

The Forum will include a panel discussion with local First Nations business owners, and be a great opportunity to network with fellow entrepreneurs and industry professionals.
 

This is a free event, but registration is essential.

Photography Competition Exhibition at Mascot Library

Come to Mascot Library and George Hanna Memorial Museum and see finalist and winning entries from last year's Photographic Competition on display.

Mascot Library is located at 2 Hatfield Street and is open from 10am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and 9am to 12pm on Saturday. The exhibition will run until November 2024.

Bayside Food and Wine Festival 2024

The Bayside Food and Wine Festival returns to Mascot Memorial Park on Saturday 2 November 2024.

When: Saturday 2 November, from 11am – 9pm
Where: Mascot Memorial Park

This free event will be an amazing day for visitors to sample wine, spirits and craft beers, eat great food, and enjoy an exciting schedule of live music and entertainment. 

There will be a range of wineries, distilleries and specialty drink manufacturers along with food vendors, food related merchandise stalls and food trucks.

This event is free - no registration is required.

Walking Football

Regular sessions of Walking Football are now available to Bayside residents every Wednesday on the Jim Graham field at McCarthy Reserve, Rockdale.

This gentler adaptation of the game of soccer caters to older members of our community, as well as to those with limited mobility seeking a safe and enjoyable playing experience.

Time: 10am to 12noon
